It is the way of many cultures to ask for the blessings of God in everything you do.  Moreover, for many peoples, a child would not attempt an undertaking without the blessings of his or her mother.  God and your mother work hand in hand.  They created you.  They nurtured you.  They are your first and eternal teachers.  Once God blesses you with the idea and gives you the strength to carry it through, your mother cannot help but want the best for you.  If you cannot ask your mother face-to-face, cry out for the blessings of her spirit.  When even that is not possible, stand firm and draw your strength from the Mother Earth who will support your good steps without question.
